What works for me -Part 1
In late winter/early spring I get very excited about the upcoming growing season and can’t wait
to get started. I use a soil-less seed starting mix from a garden centre. These tiny starter cells
are great for starting lots of seeds at once and they don’t take up too much room. The days are
pretty short at that time of year so I use grow lights to give the plants a good start. Once the
plants have their first set of true leaves they need to be transplanted into bigger pots. Now I
need a lot more space! Normally I would bring my growing stand in the house to accommodate all
the seedlings. But, this year I purchase a greenhouse. Yea! Thanks to my brother and a few
friends the greenhouse was built and ready to test late last spring. Next spring I will be able to
grow the seedlings in the greenhouse. I will need to figure out a way to heat it when the
temperature is around freezing.
